Teaching Setting

I have a few favorites when it comes to teaching setting:

1) Trent Lorcher's mini lesson Using Poetry to Teach Setting and Characterization
--Different because you aren't just listing the key details, your making something out of them.

2)'s Character, Setting, and Plot
-- Focuses on more than just time and place, teaches students the many components of setting with examples.

Both of these are great for stations and partner activities. I use them at the begining of novels!
